The ‘Greatest Hits’ album of 1976 was spent more weeks in the album charts than any other, being listed for over 6 months, sales no doubt being driven by the band’s current single at that time, the million selling ‘Under The Moon of Love’.

The album featured singles that were previously unavailable on other albums (‘Hey Mr Christmas’ / ‘Under The Moon Of Love’), as well as three well chosen album tracks.

It was also the band’s first release on the Arista label, which came about as a result of a reorganisation of Bell Records.

Sleeve notes were written by BBC Radio 1 DJ and Top of the Pops presenter David Hamilton. The pictures on the sleeve were screen shots of Showaddywaddy’s LWT TV special ‘Superpop’ which was broadcast on 31st July 1976.
